Note from the Excutive Director: January 1, 2008

Greenhill therapy was born in the fall of 2000. Our Non-Profit status was granted through the I.R.S. in October of 2001. The journey has been an amazing one. This program began with no building or arena and one very small pony, serving six children per week. This growth is due to many factors ranging from the needs of the special needs community, the reputation of our therapists and, of course, the results we see with the kids.

However, the other side of the equation has been the amazing outpouring of generosity we have been shown by the community. Every donation counts from the smallest to the largest. At least .89 cents of every one dollar given goes directly to the benefit of the children themselves. This is in the form of therapy equipment, our Sholarship and Subsidy Program, as well as our Endowment.

We now have an amazing new project that we will be working on. This past winter, we were able to purchase the 10 acres, including the farm house, that we are operating on. We are planning a rennovation of the house that sits on the property. We plan to turn it into more treatment space for the children. It will also house more administration and storage space. The new treatment space will include a Sensory Integration Gym, as well as a Snoozlen Room, which is a small contained space that provides a variety of sensory experiences. Research has proven that such a room helps to calm autistic children as well as reach the more involved children on a cognitive level.
